Acute phase is defined as the period when the patient first realizes the complaints and the plaques are not mature and can respond to medical treatment.
In the chronic phase, it is a term generally used for 6 months after the first plaque development. In this period, the plaques developed in the penis are hardened and mature, the curvature of the penis becomes evident, the patients have difficulty in intercourse due to pain and curvature degree, mostly medical treatment is ineffective in this period.
What’s the difference between Peyronie’s disease and penile curvature?
Peyronie's disease and penile curvature are two conditions that cause a curved penis. While the two conditions may appear similar, they are actually quite different.
Peyronie’s disease is an acquired disorder in which scar tissue, called a plaque, develops on the shaft of the penis. This plaque causes the penis to bend when erect. The exact cause of Peyronie’s disease is unknown, but it is thought to be caused by an injury to the penis or repeated sexual activity. It is usually painless and can sometimes resolve on its own.
On the other hand, penile curvature is a congenital condition in which the penis is curved from birth. This could be due to the structure of the penis or the way the penis is attached to the pubic bone. Penile curvature is usually painless, but it can cause difficulty during sexual intercourse.
The primary difference between Peyronie’s disease and penile curvature is that Peyronie’s disease is an acquired condition, while penile curvature is a congenital condition. In addition, Peyronie’s disease is usually painless, while penile curvature can be painful.

Does Peyronie’s Disease Make The Penis Smaller?

Peyronie's Disease is a condition in which the penis becomes curved or bent, often causing pain and distress for those affected by it. The cause of Peyronie's Disease is unknown, although it is believed to be caused by a combination of physical trauma and genetics. But does this condition cause the penis to become smaller?
The simple answer is no. Peyronie's Disease does not cause the penis to become smaller. However, it can cause a decrease in the size of the erect penis due to the curvature or bending of the penis. The hardness of the erect penis can also be affected, making it less firm than usual. Additionally, the curved nature of the penis can make it difficult or even impossible to penetrate during intercourse, which can cause sexual dysfunction.
The good news is that Peyronie's Disease is treatable, and there are a number of treatments available. These include oral medications, injections, and surgery, depending on the severity of the condition. Many men find that their symptoms improve after receiving treatment, and the curvature of the penis can be reduced or eliminated.
